Online Church Service 22-03-2020

Hi Church Family,

Today we are going to be running church a little bit differently in light of COVID-19. We have put together an online church service that you can use from the comfort of your own home. Everything you need is included from bible readings to songs to kids activities. We suggest getting together with your family and any other people in your household to worship God from home.

Church Activities on Hold

Dear Church Family

It is with a heavy heart that I need to inform you that the Keiraview Church Council has made the decision to cease worship services immediately until further notice. We received the attached update from the Synod earlier in the week and we spent some time tonight discussing this situation and its implications. Our regular activities will also be put on hold – Eden Playtime, Mentoring, Kids Club, Youth Group, Bible Study, Coffee & Chat, Couples and Friends.

We are very concerned about the impact this will have on our church family, particularly our older members who are already feeling quite isolated due to the Coronavirus. For this reason we are asking anyone who would like to volunteer to assist with helping our more isolated members to contact either myself ( or Annette Arthur (4271 4414). Volunteers can help by doing things like calling to say hello, doing some shopping, assisting to put a recorded service onto their TV. Our pastoral care team can do with some extra help to ensure members do not get missed under this new situation with no church services.

We will be experimenting with new ways of delivering a worship service to our church family using the available technology. Our first service, for this Sunday 22 March, will be available as a link on our website. When you click on the link you will be able to read the Bible readings, prayers and hymns. With another click the music will play so you can sing along with the hymns and the sermon will be from the Max Lucado DvD. Watch out for another email later over the weekend with the link to this service.

Our Sundays will not be the same for some time so it is really important that we look out for each other and stay in contact in whatever way we can. Please pray for our church family as we go through these difficult times together.

Important Information about Coronavirus

As we all know, coronavirus is spreading in NSW and there are some basic precautions that we can all take to help keep all of us safe.

The current advice if you are experiencing any cold or flu-like symptoms is for you to contact your GP by telephone. If you are unwell please do not attend church services or other church gatherings. The NSWACT Synod has good advice for congregations on its website here.

At church services, we can help to reduce the risk of spreading infections by bowing to each other or performing an elbow bump instead of shaking hands at the sharing of the peace. We can all spend a few seconds longer washing our hands before morning tea as well as using antimicrobial rub when it is available.

Please also take this opportunity to make sure that you are up to date with Keiraview’s announcements by making sure that you are a member of the church yahoo group. To join this group, send an email to from the email account that you use regularly. Please also make sure that your contact details are up to date in the church directory.
